NOTES

The second film starring Hibari Misora, which was a big hit, aroused a great dream and hope in the minds of the poor in Japan after the war. This story which is set in Tokyo in the postwar era is about the conflict between Mariko living with her mother and her father who has left his family. The close contact between Mariko and her friends also makes you laugh and cry. This film is directed by Torajiro Saito, who is known as “a god of comedy,” and the various comedians such as Haruhisa Kawada, Achako Hanabishi, Kenichi Enomoto, and Shunji Sakai appear in it.
