Okinawa International Movie Festival 2009(OIMF) will start finally. The concept is “Laugh & Peace”, and we will send this message in the movie festival through movies and audio-visual medias. OIMF is established by executive committees, they wanted to start a new type of movie festival that the heart of all people communicate through movies and audio-visual media. And then, the splendid movies and audio-visual works worthy of the wish were within our reach. Thank you very much for being able to realize this movie festival holding, it is thanks to all the people from citizen of Okinawa Prefecture and Chatan Town, creators who applied with works, volunteers, companies and organizations that support for this movie festival. We are hopeful of the birth of a new ‘Champuru’ Culture through creators in the world promote mutual friendship under the wonderful location of Okinawa. For that it is important for all of the participants to enjoy OIMF from their hearts, planning to some music and comedy events. We will be very happy if the participants could be a part of these events and enjoy OIMF further more. This movie festival aims at the promotion and development of the content industry, not only in Okinawa but also in Japan, by widely constructing the network of international contents promotion by centering on OIMF. It is the first holding this time for our committee but we will continue this festival and make every effort to contribute the promotion and development of the content industry.
